Lula Clark Rachel, 98, peacefully passed away in her home on August 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 14, 1927, in Kennesaw, Georgia, to the late William and Hattie Crawford, Lula was a vibrant force whose spirit touched all who knew her.
Lula's accomplishments were many, including working for the Bronner Brothers family, which she began after graduating from Carver Vocational School in 1962. As a licensed cosmetologist, Lula thrived in the beauty industry and managed the historic Auburn Avenue Bronner Brothers store for more than 30 years. She was like a family member and grew lifelong relationships with the Bronners. Whether sharing stories from her travels or providing tips on life, Lula's laughter and love will echo in our hearts forever.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her invaluable wisdom, gained through the years of raising three exceptional children during challenging times, serves as a legacy to her family. Her incredible journey has left a lasting impact on both her family and community.
In addition to her parents, Lula is preceded in death by her husbands, Hayward Dudley Clark III and Willie Allen "Curtis" Rachel Sr. and a daughter, Juana Clark Heard.
Lula is survived by her son, Hayward D. Clark IV; daughter, Sharon D. Jameson; grandchildren, Tammy DeVaughn, Henry (Erica) DeVaughn, Tarra (Gregory) Seawright, Starr Jones, Tonia (Roderick) Hawk, Brent (Latrina) Jones, Chanell Heard, Alexandrea Heard, Michael Clark, Jarrett Clark and eight great grandchildren. Lula is also survived by her beloved bonus children and grandchildren from the Rachel family, as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dr. Kevin T. Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Note: Livestream will be available for the funeral service found on the website.
