Mr. Steve Williams, age 65 of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026. He was born September 6, 1960 in Dallas, Georgia, son of the late Thurmand Laurence Williams and the late Betty Jean Callahan Williams.
He was a skilled diesel mechanic having worked for Dekalb County for over 35 years and was of the Christian Faith. Whether he was camping or hunting, he found joy in the great outdoors. He loved taking trips with his family to Panama City Beach, but most all going to the mountains. He enjoyed the thrill of NASCAR and had a special fondness for old time cars.
Steve is survived by his wife, Tammy Poole Williams, to whom he was married December 19, 1980; two daughters, Chasity Williams and Brittney Williams; son, Stevie Williams; eight grandchildren, Austin Holeman, Christina Williams, Cameron Whitfield, Joshua Mashburn, Emoni Cook, Landon Williams, Jacob Williams and Kayden Williams; brother, Danny "Red" Williams; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 12 noon until 2:00pm. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm in the Sam Clark Chapel with Pastor Steve Flockhart officiating.
