LaTonya Sherrell Walker

LaTonya "Tonya" Sherrell Walker, born on May 20, 1979, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 47. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and vibrant spirit.

She had a passion for life and found joy in the simple and beautiful things around her. She loved cooking and expressing her love through the meals she prepared for family and friends. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore new places, creating cherished memories through her travels. She was especially drawn to the peace and beauty of nature, finding comfort and wonder in beaches, lakes and rivers.

Her warmth, kindness and love for life's adventures touched everyone who knew her. She lived with an open heart, found beauty in every journey, and left behind a legacy of love, joy and treasured memories.

Tonya is preceded in death by her father, Louis Griffin.

Tonya is survived by her loving husband Alrick; mother Ruby; her cherished daughters, Tai' Marie, Jah-nai and Aiwah. Brother Joshua, sisters Sharonda and Alicia and 2 grandchildren Kyrie and Xyla. Sisters-in-Law, Brothers-law, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday July 18, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Sam Clark Chapel with Reverend Don Rackley Officiating. The Service will be livestreamed below. Afterwards, Tonya will be laid to rest at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery.

In this time of mourning, the family invites all who knew and loved Tonya to celebrate her life and the joy she brought to so many. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
