Larry F. Silbaugh, 91, of Dallas, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. He was born on June 3, 1934, in Scranton Iowa, and was a devoted son, father, and grandfather.
Larry served in the United States Air Force and upon leaving the service, earned a degree in Economics from Georgia State University. He later pursued doctoral coursework at Mississippi State University. Over the years, he worked in various career paths including teaching, home construction, and ultimately enjoyed success as a day trader. For the past 20 years, Larry spent much of his time focused on his relationship with God and cherished spending time with his family and pups.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean Craton Silbaugh; mother and stepfather, Bonnie and John Pearson; sister, Dixie Lee Silbaugh; and father, Frances Silbaugh.
Larry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Keith Cochran; grandsons, Phillip Cochran and Aaron Cochran; and extended family members and friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the memory care staff at Vitality Overlook, especially Maxwell and Yvie, Dr. Mary East, Amedisys Hospice, and Angie and Gloria Westmoreland for their compassionate care over the last few years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, stjude.org, or Shepherd's Rest Ministries, shepherdsrestministries.net. A private service will be held to celebrate Larry's life.
