Kenneth Wayne Cohran

March 23, 1938 — May 30, 2026

Kenneth W. Cohran, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on March 23, 1938, in Dallas, Georgia, Kenneth was the son of the late Parks and Gladys Cohran. He dedicated his life to his family, his faith, and his work as a carpenter in the home building industry.

Kenneth's spiritual journey began at the age of 14 when he was saved during a cottage prayer meeting at his grandpa Cohran's home in 1952. His deep faith led him to be ordained as a deacon in 1962 at the White Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Georgia, where he faithfully served for many years. In 1973, he was elected chairman of deacons and also served at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Draketown, Georgia. Serving the Lord and the church was Kenneth's top priority in life.

Kenneth also found joy in turkey hunting, gardening, and nurturing the beauty of nature by feeding birds and deer. His love for the great outdoors brought him closer to God and filled his life with cherished moments.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his daughter, Denise Carter, and her husband Roben; brothers, Earl Cohran and wife Marlene, and Tony Cohran; sisters, Ruth Cohran and Janice Moody; and loving grandchildren: Amanda Reed (Josh), Brittaney Boatfield, and Caleb Carter (Amanda). Kenneth's legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Carter Cole, Elijah Cole, Levi Cole, Taylor Boatfield, Gunner Boatfield, Amelia Carter, and Cora Carter, who will fondly remember his gentle spirit and unwavering faith.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife Caroline E. Cohran, whom he was married to for 66 wonderful years.

A funeral service to honor Kenneth's life and faith will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the Sam Clark Chapel with Pastors Jason Hudgens and Micah Williams officiating. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at Clark Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 pm. Kenneth will be laid to rest in the Smyrna Methodist Church Cemetery.
