Kathleen "Katie" Crutchfield Tucker, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in Dallas, Georgia, at the age of 85. Born in the summer of 1941, in Missoula, Montana, Katie was the daughter of the late Mulford and Kathleen Crutchfield.
Throughout her vibrant life, Katie not only maintained her household with love, she held down a variety of occupations including working with the USO in Hawaii, a receptionist at The Eye Clinic in Denver Colorado, and a clerk at Davis Brothers Motel and Restaurant in Bartow, FL where she met her husband of 50 years, James. Her passion for gardening kept her yard in bloom all year long. Her love of quilting expressed her artistic spirit, producing cherished handmade gifts that adorned the lives of those she loved. While anything chocolate always made her smile, Katie's oatmeal raisin cookies were extraordinary. Most of all she was an avid reader, always with a stack of books at the ready.
Katie is survived by her loving husband, James Tucker; her son, Christopher Tucker; her daughter, Corinne Tye and her husband Jeromy; and her treasured grandsons, Joshua and Andrew Tye. In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Mann. The love and laughter she shared with them will resonate through the generations, a joyful reminder of her beautiful spirit.
