Johnny "Maxie" Cole

Mr. Johnny Maxwell "Maxie" Cole, age 84 of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024.

He was born April 12, 1940 in Villa Rica, son of the late Marshall Eli Cole and the late Ester Eula Parson Cole. He was the assistant manager at the Catfish Den in Hiram for several years and was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Adeline Blackston Cole; and a sister, Georgia Ezell Mayfield.

Survivors include his step-children, Billy and Mildred Baxter of Centre, AL and Raymond and Laverne Baxter of Dallas; three nieces, Vicky Bean, Cherie Lester and Lisa Cole; and two nephews, Terry Mayfield and Mike Cole.

Graveside and interment services for Mr. Cole will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bethany Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Tibbitts officiating.
