John Frank Taylor, age 86 passed away on July 21, 2025, at his home in Dallas, Georgia. Born on May 15, 1939, in Columbus, Georgia to the late, James Frank and Carry Taylor, John was a devoted family man, and a proud veteran.
John served in the U.S. Air Force from July 2, 1956, to April 5, 1965, earning the rank of E-4. After his service, he took his talents into the automotive industry, becoming self-employed and working for more than 30 years before retiring. John was a fierce fighter for what he believed in and approached life with a tenacity that inspired those around him.
In addition to his parents John is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Taylor and 4 siblings.
He is survived by his sons John (Jocelyn) Taylor II, Richard (Shelly) Taylor; daughters, Tanya (Tommy) Barber, Lisa Hicks; brother, Jimmy (Connie) Taylor; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, his beloved dogs, Riley and Lacy, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. John's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral Service will be held in the Sam Clark Chapel on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Wayne Strickland officiating. Immediately following the service John will be laid to rest at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery.
