John Quinton Maxwell

July 11, 1960 - October 21, 2026

John is survived by his son, Adam Quinton Maxwell, and his wife, Megan; his grandson, Ayden Maxwell; his sister, Lorraine Maxwell Roberts; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burrell Quinton Maxwell and Shelby Jean Maxwell.

As a child, John was happy and full of life. He enjoyed water skiing, camping, beach trips, and playing Little League football.

He grew up in Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at a young age. After graduating from Pebblebrook High School, John attended mechanical school and followed in his father's footsteps by becoming a diesel mechanic. He worked for Baker Equipment for many years.

As a teenager, John developed a rebellious streak. He loved the music of AC/DC and Def Leppard and remained a devoted Atlanta Falcons fan.

Those who knew him best understood his sensitive nature and the depth of his generous heart.

John will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his kind heart, his quiet sensitivity, and the joy he brought to those who knew and loved him. His memory will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

John will have a graveside service on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, Georgia, starting at 2:00 PM. Rev. Don Rackley will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to Shriners Hospital.

Matthew 6:33-34

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore, don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Clark Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the service of Mr. John Maxwell.
