Jo Ann (Spurling) Vaughn

Jo Ann Spurling Vaughn passed away March 15, 2022. She was born on September 10, 1935 to the late L.M. "Buck" and Mary Miles. Jo Ann loved playing bingo, watching Nascar races, football and the Braves. She was known to many as "Nanny" and she adored her family as they were most important to her and she loved spending time with all her grandbabies. Jo Ann was very loved and she will be missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, James "Jim" Spurling; her second husband, Bill Vaughn; and five siblings. She is survived by her children, Teresa (Billy) Spurling Scroggs, James "Bo" (Keila) Spurling, Kathy (David) Spurling Tait; brother, Joe Miles; nine grandchildren, Dewey Scroggs, Jason Scroggs, Nicholas Scroggs, Shannon Cooner, Erin Rosen, Shea Mullins, Kristen Johnson, Kristen Whigham, Miranda Tait; eighteen great-grandchildren, Wesley Scroggs, Ryker Scroggs, Sabrina Scroggs, Shane Scroggs, William Scroggs, Gavin Scroggs, Colton Scroggs, Casey Scroggs, Katelyn Harrison, Alexus Davis, Faith Cooner, Hunter Cooner, Emmalyn Mullins, James Wyatt Mullins, Everleigh Whigham, Maryanna Whigham, Elianna Whigham, Harrison Holmes; and one great-great grandchild, Aunna Harrison.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services for Mrs. Jo Ann will be at Clark Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00am with Dr. Wayne Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery with Jason Scroggs, Nicholas Scroggs, Shea Mullins, Phillip Cooner, Erin Rosen, and Kristen Johnson serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Poplar Spings Baptist Church.
