JD Reece

Mr. JD Reece, age 96, died Saturday, April 19th 2025. Born on August 9, 1928, JD was known for his unwavering commitment to his family and his work as a Quality Control Technician at Ford Motor Company, from which he retired after many years of dedicated service within the automotive industry.

JD was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the great outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, and tending to his garden, which brought him closer to nature and provided quality time with family. His nurturing spirit and dedication to his horticultural pursuits were a testament to his character, reflecting his love for life and family. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great–great–grandchildren.

JD is survived by his daughter, Lisa Houze and her husband Norris; son Randy Reece; brother, Marion Reece and his wife Nell; sister, Joyce Harris; and many cherished grandchildren, including Shonda Johnson, Jamie Hurst, Jimmy Houze, Randy Reece, Jr., Michael Houze, Mandy Skidmore, and Jason Reece. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Each of them will carry the legacy of love and integrity he imparted throughout his life. JD was preceded in death by: wife Helga Reece, and son James Reece.

Family and friends are cordially invited to pay their respects at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. in the Sam Clark Chapel: Pastors Ronnie Tibbitts and Ken Pace officiating. JD will be laid to rest in the Post Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.

JD's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the memories of the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. May he rest in peace.
