Jason Wyatt Rakestraw passed away December 28, 2021. He was born on July 15, 1970 to Bernarr and Stephanie Rakestraw. Jason was a devoted husband to his wife, Lauri, and together they have two children, Tristan and Kyra. Jason was an incredible father who was very involved in his children's sports. He coached his son's football and baseball teams and was selected as the 2021 "Volunteer of the Year" for his constant and unwavering support and for his devotion to the program with the North Paulding Youth Program. Jason's happy place was the beach where he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Most importantly, Jason was a fun, loving, thoughtful man who was always looking out for everyone. He was always there for anyone and he deeply loved his entire family. Jason will be so missed.

Jason is preceded in death by his father; Bernarr Rakestraw Sr. and his brother; Bernarr Rakestraw Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years; Lauri Rakestraw, his mother; Stephanie Rakestraw, his son; Tristan Rakestraw, daughter; Kyra Rakestraw, sisters; Denise (Allan) Griffin, Darlene (Steve) Golden, mother and father in law, Beth and Johnny Barron, sister in law; Kelli (Billy ) Jackson, niece; Natalie Coolidge, many cousins, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on December 31, 2021 from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Funeral services for Mr. Rakestraw will immediately follow at Clark Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 12:00pm with Reverend Blake Trent officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Steve Golden, Allan Griffin, Billy Jackson, Craig Lester, Brad Butler, Chris Lewis, Chris McAllister, Jeff Bradley, and Scott Brown serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Paulding Youth Football Program. All donations need to go to Craig Lester and his address is 175 Thomas Road Dallas, Ga. 30132.
