J.A. Willbanks

James Artis "J.A." Willbanks, age 95, of Temple, Georgia (Paulding County), passed away on June 8, 2024. He was born on September 29, 1928, in Marietta, Georgia, the son of the late W.F. Willbanks and the late Inez Gravit Willbanks. James was a retired truck driver and also worked in the oil industry in maintenance for many years.


Throughout his life, James exuded a love for adventure and discovery, often seen enjoying his vacation retreats with his cherished wife, Dale, whom he adored. His passion for genealogy and unraveling the mysteries of his family history revealed his deep appreciation for his heritage.


In addition to his parents, J.A. was also preceded in death by his son, Dan Willbanks; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Danny Prewett; and brothers and sisters.


He is survived by his devoted wife, Rebecca Dale Jones Willbanks; his children, J.T. Willbanks, Ken Willbanks, and Sandra Willbanks, as well as his brothers, Odes Willbanks and Thurman Willbanks; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.


A Graveside Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 am on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Dallas Memory Gardens with Reverend Don Rackley officiating.
