James "Big Joe" Weathington

March 12, 1959 — August 17, 2022

James "Big Joe" Weathington passed away on August 17, 2022. He was born on March 12, 1959 in Villa Rica, Georgia to the late James and Nancy Weathington. Joe worked as a carpenter all his life and had his own business. He was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church in Dallas and he loved his church. Joe loved the outdoors and especially fishing. It was his passion and he was also a president of a fishing club. Joe's real love was for his family. He adored his children and his grandbabies. He loved spending time with them and making memories any chance he could. Joe was a wonderful man who will be so deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two grandchildren, Shelley Warren and Ruby Miller. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Connie Weathington; three daughters, Nicole Miller, Leah Orman, and Kayla (Keith) Jordan; sisters, Jane Curtis, Lela (Bill) Roberts; seven grandchildren, Austin Rakestraw, Yasmine (William) Schmidt, Hunter Rakestraw, Gabby Warren, Belle Warren, Morgan Jordan, Zach Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Axel Schmidt, Anastasia Schmidt; nieces and nephews, William Roberts, Tammy Mote, Taylor Smith, and Cora Wyatt.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services for Big Joe will be held at Northside Baptist Church on Saturday, August 20, 2022 beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Shad Smith and Hunter Rakestraw officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Joe's honor towards Donate Life America.
