James McMicken

James Alfred McMicken, age 84, passed away on July 25, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Dallas, Georgia. James was born on August 17, 1940, in Dallas, Georgia, to the late Hope and Mary Frances McMicken. Paulding County was where he spent the majority of his life, creating a wealth of cherished memories.

James was a devoted father to his sons, Darrell (Allison) McMicken and Derrick (Paula) McMicken, and his daughter, Michelle (Mark) Ford, as well as his special friend, Nancy Kunkle. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Sadie (Hunter) Southern, Braden McMicken, Noah Ford, Alden Ford, and Logan Ford, as well as his great-grandchild, Lettie Southern.

A skilled painter in the aerospace industry, James dedicated over 40 years to his work with Lockheed. Outside of his professional life, he was an avid outdoorsman, sharing his passion for hunting across the world, with his heart especially tied to the deer camp. Although a stoic man by nature, James's love for his family and the great outdoors radiated through the stories and experiences he shared.

The funeral service for James will be held at Sam Clark Chapel on August 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Clark Funeral Home, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on the same day. Following the service, James will be laid to rest in Dallas Memory Gardens with Brother Ricky Roberts officiating. Braden McMicken, Hunter Southern, Tyler Lewis, Mark Smith, Chris Collins, and Wayne Pruitt will serve as pallbearers.

James McMicken will be remembered for his steadfast spirit, his love for nature, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience that will forever be cherished.
