James "Buck" Holland

James "Buck" Holland, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 2, 2023. He was born on November 21, 1941, to the late James L. and Ella (Walker) Holland in Dallas, GA. He worked on the Assembly Line at Ford Motor Company for 30 years. He was also very involved in his community and the Masonic Lodge. He served as the Worshipful Master at Bartlett Lodge #139 in 2014 and 2021, William G England #747 in 2020, Rockmart #97 in 2022, and was also a member of Dallas #182, Euharlee #457, the Dallas Fellow Craft Club and the West GA Memorial Club in Rockmart, GA. Buck loved his family, his friends, and his community. He was one of a kind and to get to know him was to love him and he will be missed tremendously.

In addition to his parents, Buck is preceded in death by his sister Margene Harris and his long-time best friend, Dale Welch.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bertie Holland; son, James R. (Kirsten) Holland; daughter, Amanda Holland (Brent Womack); sister, Glenda Lindsey; four grandchildren, James N. Holland, Slayton Holland, Brianna Holland, Holly Godsey (Joseph); four great-grandchildren, Lyric, Rhythm, Davion, James B.; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service for James will be held at Narroway Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, at 3:00 PM, with a short visitation prior to the precession to the church from 12:00 to 2:00 with Rev. Jimmy Tibbitts, and Rev. Todd Tibbitts officiating. Interment will follow at Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery with Herschel Tibbitts officiating. Ron Noles, Nick Holland, Slayton Holland, Bryce Womack, Joseph Godsey, and Al Walker will be serving as pallbearers and Jimmy Crew, Jackson Walker, J.Bo Wages, Lance McBurnett, William Moore, and Cody Brown will be serving as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in James' honor towards the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital.
