James "J.B." Hite

On Tuesday morning, July 9, 2024, James B. Hite, known as JB, answered the call to get on board his heavenly flight. He was born on August 3, 1951, to the late Joel and Frances Hite in Carterville, Georgia. He was a graduate of the first graduating class of Paulding County High School Class of 1970. JB was a faithful member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church, and his greatest desire was for everyone to know Jesus as their personal savior and that is why he started a cross ministry.  He placed crosses in local stores and restaurants for anyone that would take them.  He also carried them everywhere he went. He was never shy about asking people if they knew the Lord.

JB worked as a drywall foreman for over 38 years. He took great pride in his work and enjoying working in construction. While he wasn't at church or working on projects with his sons, he enjoyed dirt track racing and go cart racing. JB dearly loved his family and will be forever cherished and always missed.

JB is preceded in death by his parents, Joel Franklin Hite and Frances Elizabeth Hite; and his brother, Wayne Hite.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Becky Hite; their two sons, Kevin (Deana) Hite and Steven (Margo) Hite; three brothers, Randolph Hite of Smyrna, Georgia, Donald (Sharon) Hite of Powder Springs, Georgia, Jackson (Sandra) Hite of Dallas, Georgia; four sisters, Bobbie (Lawrence) Brand of Dallas, Georgia, Carolyn Snyder of Centre, Alabama, Brenda (Parks) Davis of Hiram, Georgia, Nancy (James) Owenby of Hiram, Georgia; sister-in-law, Janice Hite of Dallas, Georgia; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hite will be on Saturday, July 13, 2024 beginning at 2:00 PM at Sam Clark Chapel with Reverend Nathan Knight and Reverend Vermon Parmer officiating.

Interment will follow at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery with AJ Hite, Blake Hite, Kaleb Hite, Ronald Gulledge, Jimmy Adcock, Jerry Adcock, Jeff Hardy, and Greg Hardy serving as pallbearers.
