April 2, 1971 — April 10, 2026

James Anthony, age 55, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, after courageously battling ALS.

James served our country honorably for six years in the US Army and obtained the rank of Captain. After his army commitment, James worked as a military contractor in the Middle East. Once home, he started his own pressure washing business and put himself through college at KSU, earning his Bachelor's degree with Magna Cum Laude honors. James enjoyed hiking, camping, riding motorcycles, swimming, and was known to be the prankster among his family and friends.

James is survived by his mother, Ilene Shuler; father, Thaniel Anthony; sister, Denise Munsey; brother, Gregory Anthony; best friends, Ricky Clark and Wally Hartley. He is also survived by his nieces, Quica Valles, and Faith Valles; nephews, Efren Valles, and Fernando Valles, Jr.; great nieces & nephews, Annabelle Sillas, Angel Sillas, Cora Valles, Bernice Valles, Tino Valles, Ezequiel Valles, Mateo Valles, Ivan Hernandez, Priscilla Valles, and Daniel Holcombe. James was preceded in death by his niece, Rebbeca Leigh Munsey.

In honor of James' life, a memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, 4:00 pm at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Ga, with Pastor Don Rackley officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 pm.
