Jackie Black

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jackie Black, who departed this life on July 20, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on April 22, 1956, in Cleveland, Tennessee, Jackie was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather whose spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

A man who lived life with passion and fervor, Jackie embraced every moment with infectious enthusiasm. He was a self-employed sales representative for Snap-On Tools, pouring his energy and dedication into his work while always keeping family at the forefront of his heart. His love extended deeply to his wife, Peggy Black; his daughter, Kristy Hoffman; his sons, Kevin (Judy) Hoffman and Tylor (Katie) Black; and cherished siblings, Kim (Vicky) Black, Tim (Lori) Black, and Sherry (Skip) Sims. Jackie's legacy will be carried on by his grandchildren; Ayden Tyus, Mason Tyus, Lainey Hoffman, Olivia Nicholson, Corbin Tyus, Brooks Black; and great-grandchildren, Emerson Tyus and Jaxon Tyus; and many nieces and nephews.

From the roar of engines at dirt track races to the thrilling excitement of NASCAR, Jackie's passion for motorsports was evident. When not on the track, he especially loved gathering with family and friends to share the exhilaration of riding their Harley-Davidson motorcycles. When with his family, especially, his wife of 43 years, Peggy, he loved camping at the lake, the beauty of the mountains and going to the beach.

In honor of Jackie's remarkable life, a funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Sam Clark Chapel with Pastor Woody Holyfield officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, to celebrate his legacy and share cherished memories. Due to the potential of inclement weather, the interment will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Georgia Memorial Park. Those who wish to go in processional to the cemetery, the family will be leaving Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 1:00 PM and we invite all who knew him to join us in this bittersweet farewell, allowing love and remembrance to be the threads that bind us in our grief.

As we reflect on Jackie's life, we find solace in knowing that his spirit has taken flight, forever riding along the highways of the heavens he so adored. May we carry his laughter, his love for adventure, and his unwavering dedication to family in our hearts, today and always.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jean Black; daughter, Terri Black; and sisters, Pam Gargle and Vickie White.
