Ina Elnora Gassett, age 80, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born May 12, 1946, in Atlanta, she was proud to be a "Grady Baby," having entered the world at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Ina built a long and respected career with Contel and later GTE, where she worked as a billing analyst and systems engineer. She was known for her sharp mind, her determination, and the pride she took in mastering every challenge placed before her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Schroeder; her son, Donald Fred Shipp, Jr.; her parents, Buford and Ruth Gassett; and her brothers Roland "Ronnie" Barnett and Louis "Felder" Gassett.
She is survived by her loving sister, Denise Gassett Cacciatore of Acworth, Georgia, and her brother, Marion Lee Gassett of Dallas, Georgia.
Ina leaves behind two daughters who loved her dearly: Donna (Richard) Tempelman of Naples, Florida, and Shelley (Donald) Hearing of Dallas, Georgia. She was blessed with five grandchildren - Lindsey (Tyler) Wyman, Morgan (Zach) Henry, Gatlin (Meagan) Jones, Troy (Emily) Tempelman, and William Harrison - along with nine great‑grandchildren, three beautiful nieces and a grand-niece - all of whom she cherished.
Ina will be remembered for her strength, her colorful humor, and the deep love she carried for her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her love will continue to guide those she leaves behind. Her legacy lives on in all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
