Harold Edwin Gilbert

Harold E. Gilbert passed away February 7, 2022. He was born on April 16, 1939 to the late Lawrence and Nannie Gilbert. Harold was a Charter member of Unity Baptist Church for over 60 years where he was also Pastor for many years. He was God fearing man who truly loved his church and the community that he was part of. He was also proud of his heritage and told anyone who'd listen. Harold worked as a printer by trade for over 40 years and worked for the Daily Report Newspaper and Bowne Printing Company. He enjoyed tending to his garden and working in the yard but only when it was warm as he hated the cold. Above all, he absolutely adored his wife of 64 years, Patricia or his Pat as he'd call her. Together they raised 5 children and made countless memories. Harold loved spending time with his family and cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harold was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his daughter; Regina Thrasher, brother; Bobby Gilbert, and brother in law; Steve Richardson. He is survived by his loving wife; Patricia Gilbert, sons; Randy (Michelle) Gilbert, Steve (Heather) Gilbert, daughters; Annette McRae, Karan (Danny) Hadley, siblings; Larry Gilbert, Judy Richardson, Sandra (Richard) Thomason, grandchildren; Brittany (Hunter) Allen, Casey McRae, Kyle (Louisa) Hadley, Caleb (Jordan) McRae, Shelby Thrasher, Zachary Thrasher, Sydney (Brandon) Crow, Graci McRae, Bailey Gilbert, great grandchildren; Harrison Allen, Gil Hadley, Hadley Allen, Law Hadley, and Laken McRae.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. Funeral Services for Mr. Gilbert will immediately follow at 4:00pm with Reverend Henry Walraven and Reverend Harold Turner officiating. Interment will be held at Willow Springs Church Cemetery with Reverend David Chaffin officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey McRae, Caleb McRae, Zachary Thrasher, Robbie Gilbert, Fred Fricks, Shelby Thrasher, Graci McRae, Sydney Crow, Bailey Gilbert, and Danny Hadley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Unity Baptist Church c/o David Chaffin at 651 Mary Lane Marietta, Ga 30062-3335.
