George Pennebaker passed away October 14, 2021 at the age of 74. George was born August 30, 1947 to A.E. and George Ann Pennebaker in Greenville, South Carolina. George had a very outgoing personality, unique sense of humor, and enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. George was also known for his evangelistic ministries, winning the Harry Denman Evangelism Award and was the host of a Christian Television Show for five years.
George is preceded in death by his parents, A.E. Pennebaker and George Ann Pennebaker. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Ann Pennebaker; step-son, William (Claire) Donahoe; step-daughter, Emily (Michael) Donahoe O’Keefe; brother, Ed Pennebaker; sisters, Ann Pennebaker Arnold and Peggy Sue Pennebaker Neal; grandchildren, Aidan O’Keefe, Grace Donahoe, and Mathis Donahoe; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held 2:00pm Friday, October 22, 2021 at Paulding Memorial Gardens, 3566 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway, Hiram, GA 30141, with Rev. Dr. Steve Scofield and Rev. Dr. James Smith speaking. Directly following the service, the family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, 4373 Atlanta Highway, Hiram, GA 30141, from 4:00 until 7:00pm.
A public Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Dallas First Methodist Church at 1:00pm.
