George Everett Foster

George "Papa" Everett Foster, 73, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on February 5, 1953, to the late George and Claria Foster, in McDonough, GA. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed deeply.

George served in the US Army and after his military service, he began a 20-plus-year career with the United States Postal Service. He carried the values of service, commitment, and love of country throughout his life. Known for his infectious smile and charming sense of humor, he had an unparalleled ability to light up any room he entered. His family will always remember him as a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

An avid Alabama football fan, George had a passion for the game and a particular fondness for sweets, even though he was diabetic. His jovial personality and easy laughter were constant in the lives he touched.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Thelma Foster and his sister, Patricia Foster Whitaker.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Norton; brothers, Kenny Foster and Ronnie Foster; sister, Virginia Forre; and granddaughters, Brittany (Michael Wingfield) Norton and Stephanie (Ashley Helton) Norton.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 4:00 PM in the Sam Clark Chapel. Per George's wishes, he will be cremated following the service.

As we gather to remember George, we will hold tight to the memories of his warmth, humor, and undying love for his family. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
