It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gene Manley, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who died on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Barnesville, Georgia, Gene was the son of the late Albert and Roxie Manley.
Gene was a dedicated business owner, having built a reputation as a skilled auto mechanic at his own shop, Gene's Auto Shop in Hiram. Gene had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He loved playing pool with friends, where his laughter rang through the halls, a joyful sound to those fortunate enough to join him. He enjoyed camping under the stars, creating lasting memories with his family, and spent countless hours on the lake. Gene was also gifted to play the harmonica.
He is survived by his children, Robyn Monk, Brett Manley, Jeff Manley, Nikki Bratlie, Donna Beltz, Tabatha Miller, and Ronald Manley. Gene is also survived by grandsons: Brayden Campbell, Timothy Monk (Lei), Jackson Manley, Michael Longo, Joey Longo, and Matthew and Jeremy Hormell. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his son Roby Manley and daughter Tammy McCain.
