Gary Hester

Gary Hester, age 73 of Dallas, GA, died Monday, July 21, 2025. Born on November 7, 1951, Gary was the son of the late Grady and Inez Hester.

A graduate of North Cobb High School, Gary served our country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. While in the service, he met his wife, Sue, and their union lasted fifty years. Gary worked in the automotive industry as a mechanic and had retired from the Whitlock BP. A true family man, Gary provided for his family and truly loved spending time with them. He enjoyed working in the garden and taking care of his lawn. He would pass on his knowledge of gardening to his children and grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife Sue Hester; sons Brian Hester and his wife Jamie, Justin Hester and his wife Jennie; daughter Wendy Hester; sister Joy Palmer and her husband Ed; sister-in-law Nancy Hester; grandchildren Logan Hester, Dennis Hester, Dawson Hester, Branton Hester, Garrison Hester, Grayden Hester, Gracelyn Hester, and Gretchen Hester. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family is having a visitation on Wednesday, July 23rd, at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral service is Thursday, July 24th, 11:00 am at the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Acworth, with him lying in state at 10:00 am-Rev. Grant Wade officiating. Gary will be laid to rest in the Church Cemetery following the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Logan Hester, Dawson Hester, Dennis Hester, Branton Hester, Garrison Hester, and Chris Hester.
