Fred Christian "Chris" Waddell

September 18, 1948 — June 12, 2026

Mr. Fred Christian "Chris" Waddell passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the age of 77. Chris was born on September 18, 1948, in Hempstead, New York, to the late Fred and Frankie Waddell. He lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

Chris was well-known as a residential building contractor, where his hard work and dedication to his craft were admired. He found great joy in the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing his favorite waters at Lake Okeechobee, and hunting deer and elk. He enjoyed raising chickens and caring for his laying hens.

Anyone who met Chris knew he was the life of the party. His infectious energy and love for dancing lit up every room he entered, especially when his favorite bands, Kansas and The Eagles, were playing. Chris had a gift for making people feel at ease. His infectious laugh, quick wit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome made every gathering brighter. He never met a stranger and was always ready with a story, a joke, or a helping hand.

Chris was a devoted family man, survived by his beloved wife, Cherry Waddell, his sister Regina (Doug) Bowen, son Jason (Lori) Waddell, and daughter Wendy (Stevie) Howell. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Wesley (Brittany) Waddell, Jake Beilfuss, Julia (Marshall) Singley, Brooke Howell, and Hunter Howell. He was also a great-grandfather to Brooklyn Waddell, Lennox Singley, and Peyton Singley, whom he loved so very much.

Visitation will be held at Clark Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, June 15, 2026. A funeral service will follow in the Sam Clark Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev.
