Frances "Donnie" LaDonna Wood, died peacefully at the age of 93 on Monday, December 23, 2024. Born on August 19, 1931, in Atlanta, Georgia, Donnie lived a vibrant life filled with love, service, and devotion to her family and faith.

Donnie devoted her career to serving as a legal secretary at Shuping, Morse & Ross Law Firm, where she was known for her dedication and professionalism. After retiring, she continued to touch the lives of those around her through her active involvement at New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia. Here, she participated wholeheartedly in the ladies' group, creating bonds of friendship and support that would last throughout her life. A lover of beach trips, Donnie cherished the joy of spending time with her family, making countless memories in each sun-drenched moment.

Donnie is survived by her two sons, Samuel Bethea (Dorothy) and Patrick Wood (Sandra), and her sisters, Dell Tolson and Mary Schoenberner. Her grandchildren will also cherish Donnie's memory: Ananda, Elisha, Adrian, Dorian, Max, Eli, Lindsey, Luke, and Layla as well as great-grandchildren: Clayton, Amadeus, Naomi, Dominic, Felicity, and Jackson. Her family will forever remember her warmth, unwavering love, and the simple joys she found in their company. Donnie was preceded in death by: her parents, Kathleen and Clarence Carder; her husband, Leo Bethea; her beloved sons, Ralph Bethea and Wesley Bethea; her brothers, Raymond Carder, Grady Carder, and Junior Carder. Her sister, Jackie Smith, also preceded her in death.

In honoring her wishes, Donnie was cremated, and her loved ones will be gathering for her memorial at a date and time to be announced later.
