Evelyn Miller

Mrs. Evelyn Hikes Miller, age 83 of Dallas, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was born October 14, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky, daughter of the late George Robert Hikes and the late Ira Faye Williams Hikes. She was the 3rd of 10 siblings, and moved to Atlanta in 1970.

Evelyn was a homemaker and a member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church. She loved the Kentucky Derby. She had a passion for shopping and a talented eye for decorating. She enjoyed listening to classic country music and loved red birds since they are a sign of hope and joy. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with family, and visiting Florida Beaches.

In addition to her parents, George and Faye Hikes, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Martin Miller, II; a son, William Martin Miller, III; three sisters, Faye, Rose, and Diane; three brothers, George, Jr., Johnny, and James.

Survivors include three daughter and sons-in-law, Deborah and William Major, Vicki and Jason Martin and Maria and Mauricio Gutierrez; six grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany and Michael Major, Angel, Adrian and Ana Gutierrez; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Baynes, Bonnie Adams and Lillie Hikes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Cochran Ridge Baptist Church on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at the church at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Childers officiating. Inurnment services will follow in the Cochran Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
