Evelyn Gilbert

Mrs. Evelyn Gilbert, age 92 of Hiram, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025. She was born April 18, 1933, in Braselton, Georgia, to the late JB and Flora Pressley.

Evelyn was married to Lebbeus Gilbert for 59 amazing years. They made their home in the Paulding County area. Evelyn spent her life dedicated to her family and her work in the textile industry, where she was an inspector at Maliborn. She was a very talented seamstress and not only sewed at work but also for her family.

Evelyn was an amazing cook; she would make delicious meals that always included desserts. Evelyn was a friendly soul. She loved to walk and spend time with other seniors, always ready to strike up a conversation and brighten someone's day. Her faith was an essential part of her life; she was a lifelong member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church, where she accepted the Lord as her Savior.

Along with her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her grandson Tim Gilbert, brother Lonnie Pressley, and sisters Gloria Johns, Virginia Kitler.

Evelyn leaves behind her daughter, Denise (Doug) Daniell; her son, Rickey Gilbert; and her cherished grandchildren, Randy Gilbert, Lisa (Kevin) O'Shea, and Jeremy (Mandy) Daniell. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Kitler, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

A visitation will be held at Clark Funeral Home on November 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at Sam Clark Chapel on November 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Scott Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens with Doug Daniell, Jeremy Daniell, Hunter Daniell, Tony Pace, Randy Gilbert, and Austin Sims serving as pallbearers.
