Evan Swam, a proud Vietnam Navy veteran and Navy SEAL, passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on October 29, 1947, Evan was a man of unwavering strength and courage, exemplifying traits of stoicism and fearlessness throughout his life.
With a deep passion for fishing and hunting, Evan found solace and joy in the great outdoors. Despite his quiet demeanor, his presence left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. A man of few words, Evan's actions spoke volumes, demonstrating his dedication to his family and country. His service in the Navy, especially as a Navy SEAL, showcased his bravery and determination in the face of adversity. Throughout his life, Evan embodied resilience and a strong sense of duty, leaving an indelible mark on those he encountered. Evan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Evan is preceded in death by his son, Ted Davison.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judith Swam; his daughter, Christine (Matt) Irons; grandchildren, Timothy Irons, Riley Irons, Lindsay Weaver, Jennifer Mendel, Kaitlyn Davison, Brandon Davison; six great-grandchildren; brother, Steven Swam; sister, Sharon Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Funeral Services for Mr. Swam will immediately follow at 4:00 PM at Sam Clark Chapel with Reverend Don Rackley officiating.
