Emilio Gonzalez Yglesias Sr., age 91, of Douglasville, GA, a devoted father, grandfather, and hardworking maintenance technician, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Born on March 21, 1934, in Austria, Spain, Emilio spent much of his life dedicated to his work and family.
Emilio was a proud retiree of Lawrence Aviation, where he worked diligently as a maintenance technician, contributing greatly to the industry with his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. Outside of his professional life, Emilio was known for his love of the outdoors. He cherished spending time fishing and crabbing, tending to his yardwork, and indulging in his favorite sweets, especially cheesecake. He also had a kind heart for animals, appreciating their companionship and loyalty. Emilio also enjoyed taking a chance with the scratch-off tickets in the lottery; he would kid his family that he might just become a millionaire one day.
He is survived by his loving son, Emilio Yglesias, his daughter, Dolores Arndt, and his cherished granddaughters, Stephanie Chapin and her husband Richard, and Courtney Arndt. Emilio's legacy of hard work and dedication to his family will live on in their hearts. Emilio was preceded in death by his loving wife, Leticia Yglesias, his son-in-law, Richard Arndt, his granddaughter, Gabrielle Yglesias, and his brother, Frank Yglesias.
