It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Durwin Mark Vaughn, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who passed on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 60. Durwin was born on October 7, 1965, in Barnesville, Georgia, and spent his life dedicated to his family. He was a proud graduate of Lamar County High School in 1983 and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Georgia Southern University in 1988.
Durwin cherished the time spent with his wife, Kristy Vaughn, and their two sons, Dawson and Connor. Durwin was not only a devoted family man but also a staunch fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Lamar County Trojans. He loved coaching his boys from the time they were little in both football and baseball. Not only did he have a positive impact on his sons, but he also made a lasting impact on many other young men. Durwin enjoyed traveling, particularly mountain trips, where he enjoyed the company of family and friends. For those who knew, Durwin did not doubt his love for God and his Savior. His warm smile and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Durwin is survived by his loving wife, Kristy Vaughn; mother, Leanoah Vaughn; and his cherished sons, Connor Vaughn, Dawson Vaughn and his wife, Macie. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Vaughn.
The funeral service to honor Durwin's life will be held at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Don Rackley. The family will be receiving friends before the service on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
