Mrs. Dorothy Jean Seals, affectionately known as Jean, passed away on August 2, 2026, at the age of 81. Jean was born on July 25, 1945, in Villa Rica, Georgia, to the late Bill and Opal Bice. Jean spent her life dedicated to her family, her faith, and her community.
As a faithful member of New Georgia Baptist Church, Jean loved the Lord with all her heart and devoted herself to helping those less fortunate. In 1979, she established the Church's Care Closet, where she served as director until 2008, providing vital support to hundreds of families each month. Jean's commitment to her community didn't stop there; she also taught Sunday School from 1978 until 2023, shaping the faith of so many in the process. Jean was married to Mr. Jerry Seals for 41 amazing years. They built a life together that they were very proud of. Jean, along with her husband, owned and operated Seals Sanitation until her retirement in 2017.
Along with her parents and husband, Jean is preceded in death by her brothers, Jay Bice, Eddie Bice, Charles Bice; sisters, Billie Lee Norton, Barbara Cook; daughter, Gwen Morgan; and son, Jerry Morgan Jr.
Jean will be lovingly remembered by her family, including her stepson, Matt Seals; her sister, Nancy Bullock; brother, Rev. Rickey (Denise) Bice; brother-in-law, Johnny Cook; and sisters-in-law, Melinda Bice and Marvene Bice; niece, Opal (Greg) Rampley, and her beloved grandchildren, Billie Brooke Frys, Travis Rampley, Laura Malcom, and Zach Nicholson. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Jean will be held on August 5, 2026, at Clark Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for those wishing to pay their respects. Funeral services for Jean will take place on August 6, 2026, at New Georgia Baptist Church. Jean will lie in state starting at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM. Dr. Keith Stell, Rev. Rickey Bice, and Rev. Jerry Hollis will be officiating. She will then be laid to rest at New Georgia Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her life and legacy.
Jean's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She made a difference in so many lives, and her memory will forever inspire us to care for one another.
