Dorothy Ann (Atcheson) Ruff

September 10, 1943 — October 6, 2022

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Atcheson Ruff passed away peacefully on October 6, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 10, 1943 in Dallas, Georgia to the late Willis and Myrtice Atcheson. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Dorothy was affectionately known as Mammie to her grandchildren and Dotsy to her nieces and nephews. She devoted her life to taking care of them. Dorothy traveled out west with her husband a few times. She greatly enjoyed those trips. Most recently, she spent time watching the TV show Yellowstone, which reminded her of her travels to Yellowstone and other locations out West. She also loved Cades Cove in the Smokies and North Georgia Mountains.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Howell Ruff. Dorothy was married to James Howell Ruff for 60 years before his passing in January of this year. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Jamie Ruff, Melanie Monk, and Judy Ruff; grandchildren Dillon Jarrett (Sarah Hardy), Blake McCullough (Ansley Robinson), and Jordan Jarrett; great-granddaughter, Brynlee Jarrett, sister, Vivian Twilley; brother, Bill (Judy) Atcheson; brother-in-law
