Donald Martin

Donald Joel Martin, 82, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was born on May 27, 1941, a son of the late Joe Albert Martin and Edith Edna Martin in Nashville, Tennessee.

Don attended Mid-State College. After his schooling, Don worked as a Medical/Lab Technician. He started his career as the first registered technologist hired by Paulding Memorial Hospital. He later worked at Tanner Medical Center, where he worked for over 30 years. After working for Tanner Medical Center, Don went to work for a good friend, Dr. John Sparti. Don dedicated every moment of his life to his family. He would hold two to three jobs at a time to ensure they were taken care of and still had time to spend with them to make some great memories. Don loved his family and his friends. He was a very kind and patient person, and was known as a "True Gentleman". Don was extremely intelligent. He could do anything he put his mind to. He loved to fix things and could fix about anything. He found joy in figuring out solutions to problems that he came across. Don traveled a lot and loved using his CB Radio, where he was known by the handle, Vampire.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by a sister, Martha Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Martin; a son, Donald Joel Martin II; a daughter, Toni Freeman; two grandsons, Cameron Joel Martin Freeman (Haylee), Dylan Hunter Freeman; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and a host of many friends.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Memorial Service for Don will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM
