Donald John Halchak Sr.

September 13, 1950 — April 20, 2026

Donald John Halchak Sr. 75, currently of Dallas, GA. and formerly of Wilkes-Barre, PA. died peacefully on Monday April 20, 2026.


He was born September 13, 1950 to John and Catherine Pikaitis Halchak. Donnie attended Holy Trinity Grade School and GAR High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army Reserve assigned to the 300th Army Field Hospital as a Medic. Donnie retired in 2015 after a successful career in car parts sales and as Sales Manager from LKQ also known locally as Keystone.


He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist in Ashley and participated in numerous other churches throughout the area. After moving to Georgia he joined the Bethel Methodist Church in Hiram. He participated in the Emmaus Walk Program for many years, which strengthened his faith and made him able to share that faith with others.


Donnie loved the outdoors and it was never to early to get up to go hunting and was a gun enthusiast. He took great pleasure in smoking BBQ for his family and always enjoyed getting together with family on holidays.

Donald is survived by his wife of 51 years Leslie Evans Halchak, his son Don Halchak Jr. and his wife Bridget, Dallas, GA., his daughter Gayle Halchak, Powder Springs, GA. for whom he now has answers! He also leaves behind the two best granddaughters ever, Kayla and Kendall Halchak. Siblings, Kathy Christopher, Jack Halchak, Anthony Halchak (Kelly). Lots of nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother Gerald Halchak and his wife Chris.
