Debra Parsons

May 18, 1951 — January 3, 2026

Debbie Parsons, age 74, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2025. She was born on May 18, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Marianne Cooper Spinks and James Spinks.

Debbie had a rare gift for finding humor in every situation - good or bad -, and she shared that gift freely with everyone she met. She loved deeply and cared genuinely for others. Anyone who crossed her path, at any stage of her life, walked away with a smile and a few words of wisdom she was always happy to offer.

She adored her three grandchildren, Sam, Jay, and Emily Ellison, with all her heart. In Debbie's world, the sun truly rose and set on her grandbabies. She found joy in cooking, canning, piddling in the yard with her flowers, and tending to the birds that visited her feeders. Debbie also loved her "gasoline therapy" - riding through the mountains and taking daytime adventures with her beloved husband, Mike. Her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Lee, were her trusted partners in crime, and Debbie often affectionately described her family as a "little, small gang".

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marianne Cooper Spinks and James Spinks, and by her adored in-laws, Cleon and Dorothy Parsons.

Debbie was married to Mike Parsons for 48 fun and loving years. She was a proud and devoted mother to her only child, Amy (Lee) Ellison, who was also her very best friends in life. She was the most loved "Ganny" to Sam, Jay, and Emily Ellison, all from Dallas, Georgia. Debbie was a devoted sister to James "Jimmy" (Lynn) Spinks and Gary "Buck" (Kathy) Spinks, also, all of Dallas, and a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Angie (Ken) Cantrell.

Visitation for Debbie will be Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Clarks Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Sam Clark Chapel. Debbie will be laid to rest at Dallas Memory Gardens with Mr. Lee Ellison officiating. The family will serve as pallbearers.

Debbie's warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Clark Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the service for Debbie Parsons.
