It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Workman, who passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 61. She was born on October 25, 1964, in Hammond, Indiana.
Deborah graduated from high school in Murray, Kentucky, and dedicated her professional life to serving others as a case manager for Tallatoona. Her compassion for those in need was evident in the meaningful work she did, providing guidance and support to countless individuals and families. Deborah's nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life; she cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, lovingly known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren. The joy she derived from spending time with them was immeasurable, and her influence will forever be felt in their lives.
In her leisure, Deborah found joy in various activities. She loved swimming, spending sunny days at the beach, and the tranquility of fishing. Her creative talents flourished as she crafted beautiful items using her Cricket, sewed with care, and crocheted with love, often sharing her creations with those around her.
Deborah is survived by her sons, Justin (Brooke) Mohon and Alan Cass; her daughter, Kim Henson; her mother, Sharon Szpak; her brothers, Shawn (Tammy) Szpak and Anthony (Catherine) Eshena; and her many beloved grandchildren, including Haley, Karlie, Josiah, Isla, and Drew Mohon; Mason and Noah Henson; Ashlyn and Jameson Cass; Ryan Moon; Kason and Riley Bowler; her beloved dog Marley; several nieces and nephews. Each of them holds dear the memories of her warmth, guidance, and unwavering love.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ricky Szpak and Richard Donald Szpak II.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Deborah Ann Workman will be profoundly missed but forever remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the deep love she shared with those around her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave.
