Clyde Bernard McDonald

Clyde Bernard McDonald III passed away on June 5, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1942 to the late Clyde Bernard McDonald II and Esther Finch McDonald in Rome, Georgia. Clyde was a proud graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelors degree and worked as an electrical engineer for Southern Company for a number of years. Clyde was a faithful member of High Shoals Baptist Church alongside his late wife, Carolyn. He loved traveling with Carolyn and enjoyed antiquing with her in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He was very interested in his family history and his genealogical research led him to discover familial ties to Scotland. Clyde will be dearly missed by his family and loved ones.

In addition to his parents, Clyde is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn Crew McDonald.

He is survived by his daughters, Lora and husband, Max Lanier; Eli and husband Matthew Little; Neysa and husband, Shannon Ladd; and grandchildren, Conor Lanier, Luke Ladd, and Lydia Ladd.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Clyde, will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Saturday, June 8, 2024 at High Shoals Baptist Church.
