Mr. Clarence Lee Poole Jr., known fondly as C.L., passed away on October 15, 2026, on his 87th birthday. C.L. was born on October 15, 1939, in Atlanta, GA, to the late Clarence Poole Sr. and Gordy Freeman Poole.
After dedicating many years to the United States Postal Service as a postal clerk, C.L. found joy not only in his work but also in the simple pleasures of life at home. He found his greatest joy in family get-togethers, cherishing the laughter, stories, and time spent with those he loved. A simple man at heart, it took little to make him happy-as long as his family was happy, he was content. Being surrounded by his loved ones meant more to him than anything.
C.L. was a true man of many talents. He had a passion for poker, enjoyed a good game of horseshoes, and never missed a chance to hit the bowling lanes. His love for classic cars was evident, as he could tell you all about the ins and outs of these beauties. He was married to the love of his life, the late Linda Gail Poole, for an incredible 66 years, and together they created a life they were very proud of.
Along with his parents and wife, C.L. was preceded in death by his brothers Billy Poole, Jack Poole, and his sister Betty Kurkendale.
C.L. is survived by his daughters, Allison (Brian) Witt and Crystal (Jimmy Harvell) Atcheson; grandchildren Linsey Greene, Alicia (Cory) Jones, Josh Witt, Jillian Howell, Ethan Witt; great grandchildren, Hayden Jones, Easton Jones, Emersyn Greene and Darcy Witt; nephews, Randy Kurkendale, Tony Kurkendale, Billy Poole; and niece, Denise (Tom) Weierck.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of C.L. for a visitation at the Sam Clark Chapel on October 18, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM. A funeral service honoring his life will follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel, with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. Following the service, C.L. will be laid to rest at Paulding Memorial Gardens. Brian Witt, Jimmy Harvell, Cory Jones, Hayden Jones, Easton Jones, and Josh Hackman will serve as pallbearers.
He touched the lives of those around him with his warmth and kindness, and he will be deeply missed.
