Charles Reno

June 19, 1949 — July 27, 2025

Charles Edward Reno, age 76, of Hiram, Ga, died Sunday, July 27, 2025. Born on June 19, 1949, in San Bernardino, California. Charles was the son of the late John and Agnes Reno. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

Charles dedicated 37 years of his life to the railroad industry, working as a Maintenance Foreman for CSX, where he was respected and valued for his hard work and dedication. Before his career with CSX, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, a commitment that he carried with honor throughout his life.

A devoted family man, Charles cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, especially Janice Reno, his beloved wife of 48 years. He found great joy in attending his grandson Reno's baseball games, often cheering from the sidelines with enthusiasm that resonated with everyone. Charles had a vibrant spirit, filled with love for sports, NASCAR, and leisurely games of dominoes, where laughter and friendly competition brought family and friends together. He also enjoyed traveling across the United States with Janice as they visited family and famous landmarks from Georgia to California and many points in between.

Charles was also an active member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where he built lasting relationships and gave back to his community in meaningful ways. His faith and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Charles's life during a visitation at Poplar Springs Baptist Church on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location, beginning at 6:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Meadows officiating. Charles will be laid to rest privately at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.

Charles Edward Reno will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Janice Reno; daughter, Julie Ramsey, and her husband, Matthew; brothers, David and Raymond Reno; and grandson, Reno Ramsey.
