Charles Curtis "Squeaky" Reaid, age 86, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026. He was born on February 9, 1940, in Acworth, Georgia. He was the cherished son of the late Virgil Henry Reaid and the late Gladys Geneva Reaid. Curtis was an extremely hard worker. He embraced life with a passion for bowling, a love for fishing, and a wonderful sense of humor that brought smiles to all around him. He was also known as a jokester, always ready with a quick quip to lighten the mood. His family was his greatest joy, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He loved being a husband, dad, granddad, and great-granddad. Curtis found solace and strength in his faith at Cochran Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: Quinton Reaid, Lesley Reaid, Dorothy Nowell, and Bobbi Owen.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia Ann Knox Reaid; his children, Sherry (Tony) Denney, Robin Reaid, and Michael (Rachel) Reaid; grandchildren, Ashley Denney, Brett (Whitley) Denney, Jaden (Tara) Reaid, Victoria (Anthony) Heflin, and Lindsey Reaid; great grandchildren, Lucas Denney, Bently Reaid, Brinley Reaid, Brooklynn Reaid, Polly Denney, Baer Denney, and Jamey Denney; brother-in-law, Jerry Knox; dear family friend, Vicki Hales; several nieces and nephews.
In honor of his remarkable life and the joy he brought to so many, a celebration of his life will be held at Cochran Ridge Baptist Church. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Childers and Pastor Tommy Paine officiating.
Following the service, Curtis will be buried in Cochran Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Anthony Heflin, Brett Denney, Jaden Reaid, Jason Cochran, Tony Denney and Jerry Knox serving as Pallbearers. Lucas Denney and Bently Reaid will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
