Charles Wilbur Davis

November 12, 1952 — June 7, 2026

Mr. Charles Wilbur Davis, age 73, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 7, 2026. Born on November 12, 1952, in Dallas, Georgia, to his loving parents, J.W. Davis and Dottie Davis. Charles spent his entire life in downtown Dallas, Georgia. He was a familiar face in the community through his work, service, and lifelong connections with family, friends, and neighbors.

A dedicated mechanic throughout his life, Charles worked alongside his father at Davis Garage, where he earned a reputation for his strong work ethic, mechanical expertise, and willingness to help others. Whether repairing a vehicle or lending a hand to a neighbor, Charles was known for his dependable nature and generous heart..

Charles proudly served his community for many years as a volunteer firefighter with the City of Dallas Volunteer Fire Department. His dedication to helping others was evident in his willingness to put himself in harm's way to protect his neighbors and community. In the early 1980s, Charles suffered severe burns while responding to a fire, an injury that ultimately brought his firefighting career to an end. Despite this life-changing event, he faced the challenges that followed with strength and determination, carrying the same resilience and servant's heart throughout the rest of his life.

A man of simple pleasures, Charles enjoyed deer hunting, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and following Dale Earnhardt Jr. and NASCAR racing. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and found his greatest joy in watching them grow and succeed.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, J.W. Davis, and his son, Nathan Davis.

He is survived by his loving mother, Dottie Davis; his children, Crystal Davis, Jennifer (Steve Thomason) Brown, and Leith (Kristy) Davis; his sister, Pat (Jerrold) Hamm; his grandchildren, Candace (Joshua) Jones, C.J. (Courtney) Brown, Hunter Davis, Nathan Davis, Brock Davis, Kylee Davis and Ethan Davis; six cherished great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Charles will be remembered for his warm smile, kind spirit, unwavering dedication to his family, and the countless lives he touched through his generosity and service. Though he lived a humble life, his legacy of love, hard work, and compassion will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday June, 12, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral Service will follow in the Sam Clark Chapel with Brother Russell Aiken officiating.
