Carol Rakestraw, age 72, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015. She was born on February 16, 1943, in Atlanta, GA, to the late Herman Charles Bone & Edna Hampton Bone. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Joann Bone. Mrs. Rakestraw retired as a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Mike Rakestraw of Hiram, GA; sons & daughters in law, Von & Jennifer Rakestraw of Hiram, GA and Lance & Lori Rakestraw of Hiram, GA; sister & brother in law, Gail & Tom Woodruff of Hiram, GA; eight grandchildren; many nieces & nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rakestraw will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at 2:00 PM, from the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Don Rackley officiating. Interment will follow at Dallas Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be, Dan Rakestraw, Cooper Cochran, Tye Rakestraw, John Arnold, Tommy Bone & Steve Rakestraw.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 19, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Flowers are graciously accepted.
