Burma Mae Waits

Burma Mae Waits, 84, passed away peacefully in her home on February 25, 2024. She was born on February 2, 1940, in Dallas, GA, to the late Charlie and Carie Blackmon. Burma spent her life embracing the role of a dedicated homemaker, finding joy in caring for her family.

Burma was someone who cherished the simple things in life, finding happiness in spending time with her granddaughter, shopping and just getting out of the house. She was most happy "burning the roads" and riding around town even without a specific destination, she enjoyed the journey.  

In addition to her parents, Burma is preceded in death by her loving husband, L Z Waits, brothers, Jack Blackmon, James Blackmon, Herman Blackmon, Clarence "Pony" Blackmon, Billy Blackmon, Franklin Blackmon, Hubert Blackmon, C.L. Blackmon and sister, Mary HIte (Blackmon). 

Burma is survived by her son, Troy and Donna Waits of Dallas, Georgia; granddaughter Jessica waits and Anthony Cantrell of Dallas, Georgia; nieces, Joyce Romines, Faye Frey, Nancy Oliver, Debbie Blackmon, Glenda Blackmon; nephews, John Dean Hite, Marvin Blackmon, Tony Blackmon, and a host of extended family and friends. Burma's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from the Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Burma will be laid to rest beside her husband L Z at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery, Dallas, Georgia, immediately following the funeral service 

While we mourn the loss of Burma Mae Waits, we also celebrate the legacy she has left behind and the love she shared with all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
