Betty Sue "Susie" Dowling

It is with great love and warm remembrance that we celebrate the life of Betty "Susie" Dowling. She was born on December 2, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia, and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Betty Thompson. Susie leaves behind a legacy of kindness and joy that touched all who knew her.

A proud retiree of Lucent Technologies, Susie was cherished by colleagues and friends alike. Known affectionately as "Gmom" and "Fluzie", she held a special place in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Ramsey; her daughter, Tracy Allen; her sister Patricia Mills and her husband, Bill Mills; her brother's (Patrick Thompson) spouse, Michelle Thompson; her grandsons, Corbin Hicks, Hunter Hicks, and their spouses, Alisa Hicks and Taylor Porter; her granddaughter, Audrey Glassmacher; and her great-grandsons, Tyson Hicks and Saxon Hicks, whom she adored. Also surviving are numerous extended family members and friends.

Susie's nurturing nature was a staple of her character. She found joy in the simple things, whether it was sharing moments with her dog, Bailey, or curling up to watch her favorite shows on the Hallmark Channel. Her kind-hearted demeanor and infectious laughter brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.

To honor her life and the love she shared, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, 11:00 am, at the Sam Clark Chapel. Friends and family are invited to share memories with those she loved at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing after the services until 2:00 p.m.
