Betty Jean (Seay) Corley

Betty Seay Corley passed away on June 25, 2023. She was born on June 12, 1949 in Danielsville, Georgia to the late James Lamar and Alma Jean Seay. Betty enjoyed spending time outside either tending to her beautiful flowers or taking care of the chicken and goats on the family farm. She loved being outdoors and working with her family. She retired from Cobb County Government in 2012 as a recovery agent with child support. She was an extremely hard worker who enjoyed her career but also her work on the farm. Betty's closest companions were her dogs, Cocoa and Bear, who she cherished dearly. Cocoa was her shadow and wherever she went, so did Cocoa. She also loved taking pictures everywhere she went either of landscapes, her many animals, or her family. Betty was an incredible wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Douglas "Van" Corley. She is survived by her children, Wendy Hembree (Ted Carpenter) and Michael Corley (Rebecca Mitchell); siblings, Sara Wall, Charles (Susan) Seay, Carol (Gordon) Pitts, Sherry (Jay) Pineo; grandchildren, Bailey Landsittel (Megan Dabney), Emily (Brandan) Cowan, Kaitlin (Jordan) Bires, Sydney Corley; one great-grandchild, Ella Grace Bires; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00am at Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Tibbitts officiating. Interment will follow at Dallas Memory Gardens with Cody Wills, Jordan Bires, Brandan Cowan, Patrick Haight, Daniel Casey, and Aaron Davis serving as pallbearers.
