It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Kay O'Brien, who left us peacefully on May 15, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on August 31, 1948, in Martin, TN, Barbara lived a vibrant life full of joy and laughter, and made her home in Springville, TN.
She was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War and then served in the Army National Guard retiring as a captain.
Barbara was known for her incredible ability to take care of herself. She enjoyed staying fit and loved nothing more than a good workout. She also had a passion for shopping and often made it a fun outing for herself and her loved ones. Her zest for life and her ability to find joy in everyday moments served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents: Claude Davis and Emma Freeman Davis.
Barbara leaves behind her beloved husband, Michael O'Brien, and her daughter, Michelle (Rodney) Ferrell. She was a proud grandmother to Savannah Vincent and a great-grandmother to Zeke Vincent.
A memorial service will be announced at a future time. In the meantime, we invite those who knew Barbara to remember her warmth, her laughter, and the good times shared.
Rest in peace, Barbara. Your spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved you.
