Arthur "Whoppy" Hitchcock

December 28, 1958 — June 3, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur "Whoppy" Hitchcock, who peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 at the age of 67.

Whoppy was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent many years working at Caraustar in Austell, Georgia, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of those around him through his strong work ethic and commitment. After his time at Caraustar, he embraced life on the open road, spending approximately 15 years as a truck driver traveling across the United States. He took pride in his work and enjoyed the freedom and adventure that came with seeing the country.

Above all else, Whoppy loved his family. He was a proud father, grandfather, and friend whose presence brought comfort and laughter to those who knew him. His four grandchildren-Bella, Blakely, Grady, and Cash-were the light of his life. Affectionately known to them as "Papa Choo Choo," he cherished every moment spent with them. One of his favorite connections was sharing a birthday with his grandson, Cash, both born on December 29, a bond that made their relationship even more special.

Whoppy will be remembered for his determination, resilience, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. Though our hearts are broken by his loss, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the impact he made on all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving family, including daughter Nikki Hitchcock-Rice and her husband James, son Matthew Hitchcock, grand children Arabella Rice, Blakely Rice, Grady Hitchcock, and Cashton Rice, sister Beverly Howard, as well as many friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly Whoppy was preceded in death by his wife Libby Hitchcock, parents Arthur and Florence Hitchcock, and sister Sharon Jenkins,
