Andrew Randolph Mitchell

Andrew Randolph Mitchell (Andy) of Dallas, GA passed away peacefully with his beloved family at his side on April 20, 2020.
He was born in Martinsville, VA June 1932. Mr. Mitchell was a U.S Navy Veteran and a graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelors degree in B.A . Upon graduation he became a valued employee with Crawford & Company for 35 Years.
Mr.Mitchell was a very active member of the American Legion (post 29) and a big supporter of the republican party in which he received numerous appreciation letters from senators, and past presidents. He was also a grand mason at Snow Creek Loge VA.
In his spare time Mr.Mitchell enjoyed many activities such as gardening, golf with friends, fishing, hunting with his brother and nephews.
He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, where they visited many countries. His favorite past time was sharing a Big Red with friends and family.
In 1990 Mr.Mitchell met the love of his life and inherited two children. From day one he opened up his heart and his home and never looked back.
Mr.Mitchell is preceded in death of his parents Lawson and Bessie Mitchell, brothers Glen and Talmadge Mitchell and sisters Edith Wingfield, Virginia Hurd, and Ina Hundley.
Mr.Mitchell is survived by his wife of 30 years Sharon Mitchell. Son Ricky Blount (Shawna) Daughter Margaret Franklin. 6 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 1 great-grandson.
He is also survived by brothers Howard (Betty Lou) and Russell (Cassie) Mitchell, one sister Lois Hundley and several nieces and nephews.

A private service for Mr. Andrew Mitchell will be held on Monday, April 27, 2020 at The Georgia National Cemetery. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to Covid-19 restrictions. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to American Legion #29 in Marietta, GA. in loving memory of Mr. Mitchell.
